Emily Hindman graduated from Purdue University with a degree in psychology. With a strong drive to provide guidance and treatment to people in distress, she returned to Oklahoma to complete a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. She obtained her license as a professional counselor about 20 years ago and has been providing mental health treatment to children and teens ever since. She has worked in the juvenile prison system, in a psychiatric hospital setting, in the foster care system, and has managed her own private practice.
Emily was determined to help more people beyond her private counseling practice and had a passion and drive to serve people with legal issues. She attended law school at Texas A&M University where she was involved with the Innocence Project and the Family Law Clinics.
Because of her drive and strong work ethic, she completed law school in two and a half years and was accepted to the school’s mentorship program. She completed a mentorship with an Ellis County attorney which placed her in the position to open a solo law practice. For the following year and a half, she accepted criminal, family, CPS and adoption cases.
Emily went on to work for a local firm primarily practicing family law and adoption law. She is excited to be a part of the team at Gus-Gilbert Law Firm where her strong passion for helping serve people in their time of need will flourish.
